MLM – A Tool to Fool

For a while, I have been contemplating to quit my job and be with my kids at home. With sky-rocketing inflation, not earning was not an option that many of us have, same was with me. So, I started searching for an option where I can create some money from home.   Suddenly one day a message flashed on my cell inviting people like me to a conference where they would teach us, especially the housewives, the art of making money through using some simple tools. It was a BIG disappointment when I realized the conference was all about some herbal products to be sold through MLM or Multi Level Marketing. They used big words like strategy, synergy, business grooming etc. etc. but at the end of the day it was about making agents and becoming one.

MLM, as a concept is selling products and services through distributor-pyramid you create down the line and get paid not only for the sales you generate personally but also for the sales generated by the distributors you recruit/enroll.  Sounds lucrative? Unfortunately, it’s not.  Many people in search of quick bucks end up being trapped in this and subsequently not only lose the money they have invested to become distributor but also remain with stock of unwanted, unsold products they would never use themselves.

If you carefully analyze the structure of MLM you realize it’s a “tool to fool” the people involved. A typical method of multilevel marketing is, first invite people to the so-called business meet, tell them about the product (generally an herbal supplement or some beauty products), make them distributors, sell them the same products and ask them to make more distributors. Generally a speaker or an AV presentation with people boasting of “THE FOURTUNE” they have made through network marketing is shown to lure and convince the audience.  But the wise will definitely ask questions such as:

·        Why should I have to be a distributor first to even buy and use the products?
·       Why does a distributor create a competitor (another distributor) who eventually would explore the same market he has to do business in?
·       If a sale is generated in the latest order of distributor-pyramid, why should company pay to all the distributors involved up the hierarchy and most importantly how can a company afford to give commission to so many people on one sale?

It is so very clear that direct selling business does not benefit anyone but the very company. They make money not only through selling their products but also through making thousands of distributors. It is a fraudulent system of making money, which requires an endless stream of recruits for success.  By the way, have you ever thought if they are so blessed and rich by using MLM, why then, so called money minters shown giving testimony of their wealth created through network marketing need to be there in such small meetings at all? It’s simple because they have NOT MADE MONEY the way they are shown in their presentations. No one makes easy money because it does not exist.

I am a survivor and escaped the trap on time. In case you have been thinking to attend one such meeting, I request, you better think again!
