Pencak Silat is an Indonesian martial art that incorporates punches, strikes, blocks, kicks, grappling and throwing. Each and every body parts are used in defense; hence, it is also known as the deadliest martial art of self-defense.

This Indonesian martial art is also well-known for its weapons like toya, tombak or lembing, parang, golok, pisau, kris, sabit or celurit, tongkat or galah, pedang, klewang, chabang, selendang and karambit.

Among all these weapons, karambit is one of the most deadly one, as it holds the potential to rip out flesh from a human’s body. Looking it closely, you will find that it resembles the claws of a tiger.

Pencak Silat came to limelight in the mid of 1948, got its recognition as an Indonesian fighting art.
